ABOUT THE OWNER
Shimby McCreery is an acoustical consultant, musician and audio engineer with more than a decade of experience in each of these fields. Above all else, he believes strongly in the role good sound and music can play in our everyday lives. His approach is equal parts passion, experience and technical know-how.
For the past 10 years Shimby worked for Kirkegaard Associates in Chicago where he consulted on many prestigious projects including the Sydney Opera House and Royal Festival Hall in London. Before Chicago he spent a year in Sao Paulo, BraziI practicing architectural acoustics for Acustica e Sonica. He has a Master's degree in Architectural Acoustics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Pearl Street Audio now offers complete architectural acoustics and noise control consulting services.
For the past 15 years Shimby has been playing music, as well as recording and mixing for bands across the U.S and Brazil. Over that time he has refined his ears, skills and studio collection leading to the formation of Pearl Street Audio / Acustica Design. Based out of the Cabbagetown neighborhood in Atlanta, his studio now provides professional mixing and mastering services to bands and record labels. Along the way, he perfected the art of repairing and refurbishing scores of vintage studio pieces, many of which now populate the Pearl Street studio.
